Academy Award-winning actor Jon Voight will attend the closing night 40th anniversary screening of his classic film about a male prostitute.

The 18th Annual Florida Film Festival, presented by Enzian Theater, recently announced “An Evening With Jon Voight” will close the 10-day festival, held March 27 through April 5 this year in the Orlando, Florida, area. Voight’s appearance and question-and-answer session on April 5 will be the concluding segment of the Festival’s Forbidden Films Retro Showcase, which also includes screenings of Fatal Attraction, Crimes of Passion, and La Dolce Vita.

About Midnight Cowboy

Voight stars as Joe Buck, a handsome, but naïve, stud from a small town in Texas who moves to New York City hoping to make lots of money working on the street. He befriends a short, crippled man (Dustin Hoffman) who makes his living as a petty thief. These two losers form an unlikely bond that benefits them both.

Originally released with an X-rating (and later reclassified as an R), the film went on to be the only such film to win Academy Awards for Best Director (John Schlesinger), Best Picture (Jerome Hellman), and Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium (Waldo Salt).
